About OPAS :
Olympic Pain and Addiction Service is a private, non-subsidized, chronic pain and addiction medicine service. The goal of OPAS is to provide comprehensive and integrative services for individuals who suffer from chronic non-cancerous pain and/or addiction.

To schedule an appointment call 360-385-4843. To change your time, please call 24 hours beforehand. You are required to have a referral from a medical primary care practitioner (PCP). If you do not have a PCP, please call and we can help.
During your first medical visit, our physician will review your medical history, provide a pertinent physical exam, and help establish a plan for care. Your plan will take into account available resources, for it is intended to be workable. A consultation letter will be sent to your primary care doctor with our findings and recommendations.
Please call 385-4843 to learn how to reach us. If we are unavailable, you may contact your PCP or go to the Emergency Room.
All refills of prescriptions are to be completed at time of visit . All general medical prescriptions are to be filled by your PCP. If the pharmacy and/or your insurance company requires forms to be completed, these will be reviewed at the time of your next visit. Our specialized services require close monitoring of prescription refills.
We expect payment at the time of your visit. Please see insert for current fees. Credit cards are accepted. Be sure to let us know beforehand if you are unable to pay at time of service.
Our invoice/superbill allows you to seek reimbursement from your insurance. How much and when you are reimbursed is between you and your insurance. While we make customary efforts to provide the information required for your insurance to pay, when additional clinician time is requested a scheduled office visit will be required.
The fee for using our billing service is 10% of a day’s charges. Although you can save this money by submitting the invoice yourself, the benefit of utilizing a professional biller is the value of having an advocate to help assure you get maximum coverage from your insurance.

Dr. Rotchford has helped patients with chronic pain since 1980. His approach is eclectic and he employs standard medical as well as alternative approaches. Dr. Rotchford is board certified in Addiction Medicine and is a Fellow both of the AAMA and the ACPM.
Ms. Mosier is a certified medical assistant and a certified acupuncture detoxifcation specialist utilizing the NADA protocol.
Dr. Tatham practiced family medicine in Port Townsend for twelve years before joining OPAS. She has particular interest in mind-body wellness and is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
We are located in uptown Port Townsend, one block south of the library. Our address is l334 Lawrence Street and we are on the north side of Lawrence with the cross street being Van Buren. If you are arriving from the south on Sims Way, take a left on Kearney Street (by the Food Co-op and Washington Mutual Bank). Proceed straight on Kearney for several blocks and take a right onto Lawrence Street. Proceed up Lawrence eight blocks to l334 Lawrence, at the corner of Van Buren. A bus route also provides regular service to Lawrence St..
