YOUR FIRST VISIT
After he listens to your medical history and provides a pertinent physical exam, Dr. Rotchford advises you of health care that can complement and sometimes replace standard allopathic and surgical solutions. Although he enjoys practicing medical acupuncture, it isn’t suitable for all patients. His patients report feeling well listened to and his approaches to pain management and addiction are practical and workable.
You may receive a recommendation from Dr. Rotchford for therapy/classes to assist you with your management concerns. Initial individual therapy appointments are usually 90 minutes as are most EMDR appointments. In your first therapy appointment, your history, needs, directions, and confidentiality are discussed. AFTER HOURS CARE
Dr. Rotchford and D. J. Hobbs, MA are often available to established patients for after hours care. Please call the office number for instructions to reach them. If Dr. Rotchford or D. J. Hobbs, MA are unavailable, you may want to contact a primary care provider or go to the Emergency Room. If you are ever admitted to Jefferson General Hospital or a nursing facility, Dr. Rotchford may be able to see you on a consulting basis for medical acupuncture.
PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
By state law, prescriptions need to be reviewed every year. Our standard office policy allows a prescription if it is on your Chronic Medication List and is not a “controlled substance” to be prescribed once beyond the prescription year deadline. We do not refill prescriptions for a patient we have not seen during the previous l8 months. We cannot guarantee same day prescription refills. It is in your best interests to discuss your refills at the time of your visit and place your refill requests early.
PAYMENTS AND INSURANCE
For all visits to OPAS practitioners, payment by cash, checks, or credit card is expected at the time of the visit, unless other arrangements have been made through Dr. Rotchford. Please refer to the brochure insert for current fees.
New patients receive packets which include insurance information and our billing rates and procedures. The receptionist can also provide a copy for you.
