Consultation Fees:
Our Consultation Rates and Office Visit Rates are in constant flux due to third party coverage issues and inflationary pressures.
Please call the office at 360.385.4843 for current rates.
Insurance Issues:
Private Insurances:
Kitsap Physician Services is the only Private insurance with which we have a contract as a preferred provider.
Our rate for billing other insurance companies is $20. We bill your insurance company at our standard and customary rates. Some insurance companies reimburse promptly and at rates sufficient to have us write off balances. Please ask the receptionist if you have any questions about whether you would like us to bill for you or not.
Other Insurance Issues:
Although we use standard insurance codes and customary fees to allow reimbursement
from your private insurance; how much and when you are reimbursed is between
you and your insurance company. Aside from Medicare, DSHS, and Labor and Industries
we have no formal agreements with any insurance company.
For new patients who ask us to bill their insurance company we will generally
ask for MasterCard or Visa information. If your insurance doesn't pay within
45 days your balance may be charged to your MasterCard/Visa account. We reserve
the right to charge 1.5%/month interest on outstanding balances.
One last thing, if you get reimbursed by your insurance company for more than what you paid then we expect the difference to be paid to us. I don't think it's right and it may be illegal for patients to profit financially from obtaining medical care.
Medicare:
Dr. Rotchford will only see new Medicare Patients for specialist care in Pain Management, Medical Acupuncture, or Preventive Medicine. Medicare does not cover acupuncture. Dr. Rotchford does accept Medicare assignments and as a result once medicare is billed there will also be an additional payment due. If the Medicare patient has insurance that covers this co-pay we will bill their insurance for them but this part of the bill is ultimately the patient's responsability. Because Medicare regulations and reimbursements can change quickly and sometimes quite arbitrarily these policies may change.
Established Medicare Patients:
Medicare patients are expected to have their primary medical care through
another office. Dr. Rotchford's service will complement this primary care service.
If an established medicare patient wants to receive acupuncture there are two
options for visits:
DSHS Patient:
Will only be seen on referral from their primary care provider for medical
acupuncture or pain management. We require a written referral before seeing
new DSHS patients.
Worker's Compensation Patients:
Will be seen on referral only. Currently Worker's compensation doesn't pay for acupuncture. As a result, if this or other services are not covered by Worker's compensation they become the direct responsibility of the patient. If the claim is not approved and/or payment for services provided is not received within sixty days of time of service the patient will be billed directly for the services.
Motor Vehical Accident Claims:
Payment is expected at time of service. If this becomes impossible then credit limits will be based on a case by case basis.
