Qianna Mosier - Medical Assistant

Your First Visit

After listening to your medical history and providing a pertinent physical exam, Dr. Rotchford will advise you of health care that can complement and sometimes replace standard allopathic and surgical solutions. Although he enjoys practicing medical acupuncture, it isn't suitable for all patients. His patients often report feeling well listened to and he has a pragmatic approach to pain management. Be sure to visit www.acubriefs.com/OPAS. There you will find a more detailed explanation of Dr. Rotchford's integrative approach to pain management.

AFTER HOUR CARE
Dr. Rotchford is frequently available to established patients for after hour care. You will be given directions on how to reach him if you call the office number. Because Dr. Rotchford is a solo practitioner providing specialized care, when he is unavailable you may want to contact a primary care provider or go to the Emergency Room. If you are ever admitted to Jefferson General Hospital or a nursing home he will see you on a consulting basis for medical acupuncture.

FEES AND PAYMENTS
Payment is expected at the time of the visit unless other arrangements have been made. Dr. Rotchford does not see new Medicare, DSHS, or L&I patients without referral from their primary care provider. Please go to billing info link for insurance coverage issues. New patients will receive additional information about insurance issues in their new patient packets.

VISITS/CANCELLATIONS:
We request that a 24 hour notice be given when canceling an appointment. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may make it difficult if not impossible to keep an appointment or to give adequate notice. If this is the case please call and let us know. If appointments are missed without adequate notice we reserve the right to make a $45.00 charge.
At the end of the morning or afternoon there can be significant delays in seeing Dr. Rotchford. The delays are sometimes unavoidable given the nature of his practice. If it is important for you to be seen on time we recommend early morning or early afternoon appointments. Also we invite you to call before any appointment to be appraised of possible waiting times.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS / INSURANCE FORMS:
By state law prescriptions need to be reviewed every year. Our standard office policy allows a prescription if on your Chronic Medication List and is not a "controlled substance" to be prescribed once beyond the prescription year deadline. We do not refill prescriptions for a patient we have not seen during the previous 18 months. Also please try and discuss your prescription refills at the time of your visit and get your requests in early as we cannot guarantee same day prescription refills.
Insurance companies often request additional forms to be completed. If there isn't time to complete them during your regular visits you will be asked to come in to give Dr. Rotchford scheduled and reimbursed time to complete them.
